In Japan, we have a Nippon Professional Baseball and it is considered the highest level of Japanese baseball league. There are 2 leagues of total of 12 teams, 6 teams from the Pacific League and 6 from the Central League.

The history of baseball in Japan was indeed back in long time ago. The very first game in Japan was in Sep of 1871 with American Navy, and the first professional baseball team in Japan was funded in 1934 and played with American baseball team including world famous player, Babe Ruth.

This Japanese professional baseball league usually starts end of March having about 130 games of each teams till mid October. At the end of the season, we have a match between top teams from  2 leagues so called “Japan Series”.

We love to go and watch those baseball games having beers and snacks. You can enjoy the special atmosphere of the baseball dome or stadium, music, cheering, beers on tap sold by cute girls and foods in each stadiums.

Those 12 professional baseball teams are located in Hokkaido, Sendai,Tokyo,Yokohama, Chiba, Nagoya, Osaka, Hyogo, Hiroshima and Fukuoka so wherever you travel in Japan, you have a chance to watch one of them during baseball season. Enjoy!
