The history of Japanese traditional drum
Japanese drum called TAIKO is known as one of the musical instruments today but it was originally made for a communication tool. In Japanese history, TAIKO was used as an ancient Japanese commnication tool for religious beliefs as people belieaved that they could contact god with TAIKO and also encouraging soldiers at war as been said that the beat of TAIKO synchronise the heart beat, and also letting people know time. Of course as a musical instrument TAIKO has played a very important role in KABUKI which is a classical Japanese dance-drama and in GAGAKU which is Japanese traditional orchestra. TAIKO has a unique beat and an echo not like any other musical instruments in the world. It's definitely worth listening to the sound!!
