Ise Grand
Shrine so called Ise Jingu is located in Mie prefecture and it is a shinto
shrine dedicated to the goddess Amaterasu-omikami. There are two main shrines
in Ise Jingu called, Naiku and Geku.
Amazingly
this Ise Jingu was founded about 2000 years ago and it is described in the
Japanese oldest books, “Kojiki”and “Nihonshoki” edited about 1300 years ago.
Many
generation of our ancestors have worshiped at the Ise Jingu.
In the
city of Ise, there is a main street called “Okage Yokocho”and you can enjoy
having their famous Ise noodle or Akafuku mochi, which is a rice cake covered
with red bean paste and even souvenirs of Ise.
Akafuku
house there was established in 1707 as a tea house to welcome visitors of Ise
Grand Shrine and it is considered to be a “must visit” place when you visit
Ise. And this Akafuku mochi is indeed
delicious!
